In a lot of Indian markets the connection is good most of the time and absent at exactly the wrong moment. If billing depends on it, the queue stops. The offline edition puts the software and the data on the shop's own computer, where neither depends on a network.

People assume offline is the small option and cloud is the serious one. It is not that. Offline suits a business that bills from one place and needs it to work regardless of the line. Cloud suits a business that has to be looked at from elsewhere, or that runs more than one branch and needs them in one place.
Both editions are ₹25,000 excluding GST: offline as a one-time licence, cloud per year. The same software, the same modules. The question is genuinely about where the data should live, not about how much you want to spend.
What offline means in practice
Billing that never waits for a network
The software and the data are on the computer at the counter. There is no request going anywhere, so there is nothing to time out.
Your data on your own machine
The database sits on your computer and nobody else holds it. For a lot of owners this is the whole argument, and it is a reasonable one.
Backups that happen without being remembered
Daily automatic backups, which can be copied to a second drive or to an online location. This is the part people skip and the part that matters on the day the machine fails.
The compliance parts still work
E-invoicing and e-way bills need the portal and so need a connection at that moment, but the billing that produces them does not. Bills are made offline and registered when the line is back.

Can I see my shop from home with the offline edition?
Not by itself — that is what the cloud edition is for. Some customers run offline at the counter and use reports sent to them on a schedule instead.
Can I move from offline to cloud later?
Yes, and people do, usually when a second branch opens. Your data comes with you.
What happens if the computer dies?
You restore the latest backup onto another machine. That is why the backup is automatic rather than something someone has to remember, and why we set up a second copy during implementation.
